North Ridge’s Sub-Acute program is pleased to announce the recovery of Mrs. Sponholtz. Mrs.Sponholtz was admitted to North Ridge Medical and Rehabilitation Center’s Sub-Acute program following her admission to Holy Family Memorial. Mrs. Sponholtz was admitted through the emergency room after she suffered a mild stroke.

After spending some time in the hospital, and realizing the length of recovery time necessary to regain her independence, Mrs. Sponholtz and her family decided to have her come to North Ridge for her rehabilitation.

Our Peoplefirst Rehabilitation team developed a comprehensive therapy plan specifically for Mrs. Sponholtz. Her goal was to return home and throughout her stay both our therapy team and Mrs. Sponholtz worked hard to meet her goals. During her stay she participated daily in Physical, Occupational and Speech therapy. When she was getting close to discharge our therapy team scheduled an in-home evaluation to determine any adaptations that would be needed prior to her return home. After making some suggestions, Mrs. Sponholtz, and our therapy team were prepared for her successful return.

Mrs. Sponholtz preferred an aggressive approach to her therapy and credits her family, especially her husband Donald, for giving her the strength to keep going. Because of her therapy team’s motivation and Mrs. Sponholtz’s drive she was able to return to her home.

North Ridge Medical and Rehab center is proud of Mrs. Sponholtz’s success in our Sub-Acute rehabilitation program and wish her many years of independence. Please let us know if our Sub-Acute rehabilitation program can assist someone you know.
